Franz & Kristie Martens

Bio for Franz

Raised in Canada to Russian/German parents, Franz met Jesus when he was 17. Fascinated by missionaries visiting his home church, he went on a short-term mission trip upon graduation from high School. Convinced in his calling to full-time ministry, he graduated from Ethnos 360 Institute (formerly New Tribes Mission) to prepare a life in missions.

With a BA in Intercultural Ministry and MA in Christian Counseling, his passion for missions has given opportunity to serve all over the globe. His hobbies are cooking, writing, volleyball, drag racing and learning about the world.

Bio for Kristie

Born into an American missionary family, Kristie met Jesus at a very early age. With so much exposure to the need for missionaries, she chose early in life to follow Christ into missions.

Having earned a B.A. in Multicultural Ministry at Ethnos 360 Institute, she understands clearly what goes into fulfilling the Great Commission. With a gift for hospitality, anyone who is fortunate enough to know her has experienced a special blessing.

When she is not hanging out with Franz her hobbies are helping Ladies with skincare and makeup, sitting on the beach and camping.

Family

Franz & Kristie have three children. Two are married and one serves in the US Army. They have one grandchild.

Ministry History

After graduating from Ethnos 360 Institute, the Martens family served with NTM for 20+ years. Included in their service was serving with Destination Summit (short-term trips with NTM), serving in the Sepik Region of Papua New Guinea, serving with the Bible Institute in Michigan and Wisconsin, and serving in West New Britain, again in Papua New Guinea. Then they served for 5 years with Life Impact Ministries in Germany, operating a hosted Oasis to minister to Christian leaders serving overseas. Two years ago, they started working with Berlin Ministries International to plant a church in Potsdam, Germany. This is where they minister today. Franz serves as the lead pastor in Potsdam and is on the pastoral staff for Crossway International Church in Berlin. He also offers counseling to Ministry Staff of Mission Agencies and Churches.
